At the CRM, those who are chronically unemployed and/or unhoused will be given the space and freedom to grow in a fun, creative open environment that teaches both soft and hard skills- set to a different pace for each participant. Soft skills include problem solving, task-orientation, collaboration and teamwork, patience, organization, time management, stress management, and customer service. Hard skills are brought about through small business mentoring. Participants will learn sales, accounting, marketing, inventory, software, and business model marketing that will help with analytical and creative reasoning.
Given time, each participant can learn to stand tall, find their purpose, and break through the cycle of destructive action, self-doubt, and poverty.
“Change happens one moment, one action, one person at a time.” (Adena Rivas)
Anxiety and depression are main contributors to mental health issues across the United States. As such, this program delivers a participatory model of mental health recovery through the development of a collaborative community resource that provides a creative workspace for building confidence, problem-solving skills, focus and comfort; for promoting education and environmental stewardship in order to increase self-worth and empowerment; and through hands-on work experience offering life skills training and future employability. All of which lessen anxiety, stress, frustration and depression and leads to positive reinforcement.
